theLAB  Walk, Wine and Wellness Retreat is a carefully curated retreat conceived with you in mind – the soulful traveller, the food and wine enthusiast and the lover of life. This is a perfect blend of wellness that not only recharges your being but captivates all your senses.

A beautiful country meander, just outside Robertson in the Western Cape of South Africa. Known as the valley of wine and roses, at the heart of the R62 wine route. The Walk, Wine & Wellness Retreat includes a 3 day guided walking experience.

We will host your stay  in our beautiful, peaceful and modern Cape Dutch style guest house, in the charming rural area of Klaasvoogds. The Retreat will guide you through the valley and lead you to several wine farms as well as non-wine related locations

What to Experience
Easy walking, wine tastings, olive and lavender farm visits, wine tasting and wine farm visits. Picnic lunches and river cruise on the majestic Breede River. Wellness treatments and hearty dinners.

This experience is more about relaxing and enjoying the environment. The walking is limited and is easy.

Physical Fitness

A reasonable degree of wellness is an advantage. There is some easy walking on the olive farm and wine estates.

Four star level luxury guest house with all modern facilities and requirements.

Food Supply / Catering

This is a fully catered experience, with full English breakfast and three course dinner. Lunches are light meals in farm restaurants or picnic style. Dinner menus highlight both the culinary skills and fresh produce of the region.

Logistic support / Guiding

Accommodation is in one place and transport provided where necessary. Only day packs are required.

The trail is guided by local guides, familiar with the area and the local activities and experiences. Olive & Lavender farms have their own expert guides with knowledge of their offerings.

Other Activities

The visit to the area can be extended before or after, with visits to other wine estates and places of interest. Visit the Owls Rest lavender and olive farm on the route home.

Fauna & Flora

The region falls within the Cape Floristic Region and uncultivated areas would be mainly Fynbos or Renosterveld. The focus is however largely on wine and wellness.

There is good bird watching around the farm at the guesthouse.

Climate

Robertson as part of the Western Cape is located in a Mediterranean climate with winter rainfall. Summer can be hot (up to 35 degrees) although this is seldom sustained for long.

Seasonality & Best Time Year

Spring and Autumn are moderate and the best season for more strenuous activities, although good winter days can be quite warm. This is an all year round experience.

Group Size

Minimum group size 6 persons. The guest house can accommodate up 30 people sharing. Recommended group size 10 to 20.
