The Fynbos Trail

The Fynbos trail is a unique nature experience in the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom that can be undertaken as a fully guided and catered slackpacking trail or as a self-guided and catered trail. This trail, just two hours from Cape Town and close to Hermanus in the Overberg, has a two, three or four night option, if you include the coastal add on. The trail takes hikers along a beautiful route through coastal and mountain fynbos, as well as remote forests.  Highlights along the trail include fascinating visits to local archaeological sites, learning about the exceptional diversity, threats and ecological wonders of the fynbos and forests,  farm style hospitality, locally sourced meals and expert guides.  The business supports local conservation and social upliftment projects through partnerships with The Grootbos Foundation; Flower Valley Conservation Trust and the Walker Bay Fynbos Conservancy.  By hiking the trail, guests contribute directly to the conservation of the region and the upliftment of local communities.  This trail is ideal for those looking for a beautiful and authentic walking holiday in the Cape and is open to all ages. It is graded and as easy to moderate by Green Flag and therefore makes a great trail to introduce young kids to hiking as well.

The fully guided Premium Option is highly recommended, with the add on option during whale season (Southern Right whale migration July to November).
